for St-Reverie !!

Name: Elpis Parcella

Age: “16” although much older - Fae age slower

Birthdate: May 13

Gender: Demigirl

Species: Fae (as a back-up, I prefer to have an Aemis-)

Orientation: Demiromantic Asexual

Ranking: Bronze

Magic: Fire Magic

  • Aes Flammae | Offensive | A weapon completely made out of fire appears. The weapon depends on what Elpis prefers - for an example, a mace, sword, etc. However, she can only use this when her Druid Magic is not active. If a large amount of water touches her weapon, it dies out and takes a while to form again. She cannot cast any other spells while Aes Flammae is active.

  • Medella Osculor | Support | Only can be used when Druid Magic is active and performed on one person at a time. Elpis places her hands on her ally and slow warmth spreads through their body. The restorative time can be judged by how long physical contact occurs. Healing is drastically improved if she places her lips on a wound and Elpis genuinely cares about the person. However, if she does not, the restorative powers are hindered and slowed. If there is a case where intense hatred is present, this spell does not work at all. Elpis cannot cast any other spells while doing this. She cannot heal herself either.

  • Crescens Evorsio | Offensive | Elpis can create balls of fire and launch them at her opponent. While in the air, she can manipulate them and control the direction of the flames. However, once it touches the ground, she loses most control of the flames. She must consciously hinder its spreading, although that is the extent of her control. A simple water spell fizzles out the fire. If there is no oxygen present, the flames die out as well. If the fire touches her when Druid magic is active, it does not hurt her. However, if the flames on the ground are put out, Elpis is hurt.

Personality:

+ Curious | + Optimistic | + Conscientious | = Intrepid | - Stubborn | - Gullible | - Grudging

As a young girl who grew up enclosed in the world of Galearia and a small area, Elpis has a lot to learn and explore. Due to this, she’s naturally curious about many things. Even the most simple things may come as a huge surprise to her. Her curiosity leads her into trouble at times. Without calculating many things, she barges headfirst into situations with stupid bravery. However, her intrepid actions often allow her to explore new things and complete more tasks.

Due to her love of heroes, she is conscientious - or very moral. Her words are candid most of the time, and she finds it hard to lie. She fights for “justice” and is a firm believer in helping everyone she can. Her lack of experience causes her to be quite gullible, and she still believes that everyone has good in them. Elpis tries to be kind to everyone, believing that everyone deserves kindness. Since she has great visions and dreams for the world, she is hard-headed and stubborn. She has a hard time seeing how other people view the world and is inflexible most of the time. Elpis tries to do things her way, and if it fails, she simply continues to try, believing with hard work, she’ll succeed. However, Elpis is very grudging. She tends to hold grudges if she believes people continuously commit deleterious acts. However, she hardly thinks about herself, and if people are taking advantage of her.

With all her optimism, she has a lot of hope for the world. She prides herself in this, and believes if everyone had hope, they could achieve great things.

Biography:

“All of the disadvantage of this world stems from a person’s lack of ability.”

Galearia was a beautiful place - you could hear the trees breathing. Elpis grew up immersed in nature. She grew up without the presence of a mother and did not think much of it. However, when she reached the tender age of ten, her father decided that he would introduce her to her mother. What a strange word it was: so unfamiliar, meaningless, shrouded with mystery. Before she had met her mother, her father insisted on teaching her how to conceal her wings. When she finally mastered it and was able to take form of a human, she wandered outside of Galearia with her father. Terra, was it? It was there, where she had met her at a homely cottage in the woods.

Oh, how beautiful she was. She was the most beautiful woman in the world to Elpis. Her actions showed a hint of grace and sophisticated demure. And, oh - her eyes! How they sparkled with kindness and warmth. When she had met her mother, Elpis was completely enchanted. They decided to stay in the realm of Terra, before returning to Galearia after six months. The little Fae could not think it was a huge mistake -

You could hear it’s heartbeat slowing down, becoming more and more faint… Oh, Galearia was dying. Everyone was fluttering out, although some stubbornly decided to stay. Her father gave Elpis a choice: would she stay or leave? A week was given to the little fairy before she finally decided. She’d pack her most precious items before leaving. There was a delay in their departure due to her father’s relatives coming to visit them. They insisted on living in their homes; how could they leave a place where they had stayed for centuries? It wasn’t as if they had any one outside, in Terra, either…

It was a year before Elpis and her father left. As they went to the cottage, everything was in a disarray… And, she smelled it-

It was sickening, so sickening. An irony smell invaded her senses, seeing a shadowy figure feasting on her mother’s body. Her beautiful, lovely, kind mother-

A scream threatened to rip from her throat, but she realized couldn’t find her voice at all. Elpis stood there in horror, as the demon turned to look at her. Fae blood - was it different? Her eyes darted and saw her mother’s hand twitch, oh, maybe she was alive. Her heart started to beat, and the demon went forward to lunge at her. Elpis’s father blocked the blow, although was bitten. Blood seemed to spray everywhere - and oh, there was so much-

And it was then that she saw her. An angelic figure descending, and appearing and vanquishing the demon. Appalled by such an appearance, Elpis learned that they were angels and their duty was to kill all of the demons. It was a few months later that she layed her mother outside the hut, where she placed flowers upon her grave. It returned to living a quiet life with her father, but it was different. It was never the same.

Her father would have to work, and left her alone. As she was alone, she began to learn how to do household chores, and explore the wilderness around her. Since her mother had a mainly secluded house, Elpis wasn’t worried about the dangers, nor did she learn about them. She could hear the trees breathing again, and listen as the fire crackled. She liked fire the most - it was warm. She breathed into the fire, and watched as it danced, imagining a little creature forming. It never did, but it was enough to keep her from being lonely. During the winters, she’d sit by the fireplace, reading old fairytales her father brought back. Elpis wanted to be the knight in shining armor - a hero. Someone who could be like the angel that tried to save her mother. She was bathed in valiance.

It was a few years later when Elpis’s father gifted her a camera. It was an instant camera - the kind that produced pictures on the spot. As she fiddled with it, she became immersed in photography. She was distracted by the beauty that could be captured by such an object. She fell in love when she could touch it in her hands. It was as if she could feel everything speaking to her from the picture. Elpis instantly regretted that she didn’t find such a thing to capture her moments at home, back in Galearia. From that moment forth, she kept a journal of her days, writing and using tape to tape her photographs on.

Life went on peacefully, and she added to her collection, attempting to find someway to convey a deeper message. Elpis had not forgotten her dream of being a hero, and hoped to capture one on camera. Soon, a mysterious letter had arrived and Elpis had realized that she had been given an invitation to St. Reverie, an esteemed school raising children to fight demons. She felt a smile spread on her lips, before bouncing off to prepare dinner for her dad and present the news to him.

Perhaps… she’d finally be a ‘hero.’ Perhaps… she could surpass her weakness that allowed her mother to die.

Additional Information:

  • Elpis chose to enroll in a night class because she thinks that if she can “think” like a demon and reside in the darkness, she’ll be better at fighting them. She believes demons wouldn’t show themselves in the morning, therefore she must get used to fighting in the dark. If she trains at her weakest, she’ll be even stronger during the day.

  • Tends to daydream when staring at an object for two long.

  • A horrible sense of humor - jokes escape her and when she tries to make a joke, she tries too hard. Her jokes are centered around puns and are really childish.

  • She likes to give people nicknames because they’re “secretive” and she claims sidekicks have them!

    • Elpis likes really cute nicknames.

  • Doesn’t have a good sense of personal space - will touch or drag people when she wants them to go places

  • A really bad liar! When she lies, she has a few actions that give her away - but that’s a secret ;i

  • Finds interest in human superstitions!

  • She doesn’t understand all the excitement about human sports or science

  • Loves to listen to singing! Her mother used to sing to her when she was alive.

    • Elpis has heard tales of mermaid singing. She wants to hear a real mermaid sing one day.

  • She is afraid of water, due to her spells being fire based.

  • Druid Magic: If Elpis is particularly drained, her usual blue fire turns into a flickering red one. If she’s fighting in the darkness, a slight glow emanates from her - an asset and downfall. She can see easily, although enemies can also spot her. In this state, she’s vulnerable to water - a slight touch will hurt her immensely. On damp days or in damp areas, she immediately glows red and flickers, a slight pain present in her body.
